Selling on BlackMarkit

Last updated October 16, 2026

Our seller rules in plain language: what it costs, when you get paid, and exactly how enforcement works. No surprises.

The short version
  • You keep 100% of your price. No selling fees, no listing fees, no processing fees. Prepaid labels are paid for by the buyer’s shipping.
  • Boosts are free to turn on; you pay 10% only if a boosted item sells.
  • Paid after delivery: 72h for new sellers, 48h standard, 24h trusted, or instantly when the buyer confirms.
  • Transparent 3 Strikes: every strike has a reason, an appeal, and an expiry date.

Getting started

  1. Set up payouts in Settings. It takes about 3 minutes on Stripe, which verifies your identity and holds your bank details.
  2. Tap Sell, add up to 8 photos and a short clip, set your price and shipping, and publish.
  3. Post to the Feed to get your items in front of more people.

Fees

ListingFree
Selling feeFree. You keep 100% of your price.
Card processingFree for sellers. BlackMarkit pays it.
ShippingNo fee. With a prepaid label, the shipping the buyer pays covers your label. If you ship on your own, the shipping the buyer pays goes to you.
Cancellation fee$2.99, only if you cancel an order after it sells. Taken from your next payout.
Refund fee$1.49, only if a dispute is decided against you. Taken from your next payout.
BoostFree to turn on. 10% of the item price (8% for Founding Sellers) only if it sells within 14 days of boosting

Example: you sell a $100 item and ship on your own for $8. You receive $108. The buyer pays $113.70: your $108 plus a $5.70 Buyer Protection fee, which is how BlackMarkit makes money. If the item sold while boosted, the 10% boost fee ($10) comes out of your payout. Every order shows its exact breakdown.

Founding Sellers

Our first sellers get a Founding Seller badge, an 8% boost fee instead of 10%, and early access to brand stores.

When you get paid

The buyer's payment is held until delivery, which protects both of you. Then it's released to your Stripe balance:

Seller levelRequirementReleased
NewYour first 5 completed sales72 hours after delivery
Standard5 to 24 completed sales48 hours after delivery
Trusted25+ completed sales and no active strikes24 hours after delivery
  • If the buyer taps “I got it, all good,” your money is released right away, at any level.
  • With a prepaid label, your hold window starts when the carrier marks it delivered. If you ship on your own and the buyer doesn't confirm, delivery is assumed 10 days after you ship.
  • A buyer's problem report or card dispute pauses the payout until it's resolved. You'll always see why.
  • Your level and progress are on your Profile. From your Stripe balance, money moves to your bank on Stripe's schedule (usually about 2 business days), or instantly to a debit card for a small Stripe fee.

Our promise: payout rules only get better for sellers who stay in good standing. If we ever change them, we'll give at least 14 days' notice on our News page.

The 3 Strikes system

We want you to always know where you stand. Your account standing is shown on your Profile.

  • Warnings come first for small, fixable issues: a blurry cover photo, the wrong category, missing measurements. A warning isn't a strike.
  • A strike is given for breaking a rule: not shipping within 3 business days without cancelling, an item significantly not as described, repeated warnings for the same thing, or asking buyers to pay outside BlackMarkit.
  • Every strike comes with: the rule broken, the listing or order involved, and an Appeal option reviewed by a real person, usually within 3 business days.
  • Strikes expire after 6 months without a new one. One bad week doesn't follow you forever.
  • What strikes affect: any active strike moves you out of the Trusted level. With 3 active strikes, selling is suspended until one expires or an appeal succeeds.

Zero tolerance. These lead to immediate suspension, no strikes needed: selling counterfeits or replicas, scams or fake listings, fake or reused tracking numbers, threats, harassment or hate, and opening accounts to get around a suspension.

What you can't sell

  • Counterfeits, replicas, “inspired by” items using another brand's logos, or items you can't confirm are authentic
  • Stolen goods
  • Weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco and vapes
  • Adult content or items
  • Used underwear, and swimwear without the hygiene liner
  • Recalled or unsafe items, and anything illegal to sell where you or the buyer live
  • Listings that aren't for a real item you have on hand (with clearly labeled pre-orders as the exception, if we add them)

Good listing standards

  • Your own photos of the actual item, with flaws shown. A short clip helps it get picked up in the Feed.
  • Accurate size, condition, and measurements for clothing.
  • Respond to messages and offers within 48 hours when you can.

Verified badges

Brands and established shops can apply for a verified badge. During beta, every application is reviewed by hand.
