Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information BlackMarkit collects when you use BlackMarkit, how we use it, and the choices you have.
- We collect what we need to run the marketplace: your account, listings, messages and orders.
- Card details go straight to Stripe. We never see or store your card number or bank account.
- Your shipping address is shared only with the seller of an order you buy, so they can ship it.
- We don’t sell your personal information and we don’t run third-party advertising trackers.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, shop handle, shop name and profile photo.
- Activity: listings, photos and videos you post, likes, bids, offers, items you add to your bag, messages, and Feed posts.
- Orders: what you bought or sold, prices, fees, shipping address, tracking numbers, delivery confirmations and problem reports.
- Payments and payouts: handled by Stripe. We receive limited information from Stripe, such as whether a payment succeeded and whether a seller's payout account is active.
- Applications: information you submit to become verified or join the affiliate program.
- Technical: basic logs (like IP address and browser type) kept by our hosting providers for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- To run your account, show your listings, process orders, hold and release payments, and deliver notifications.
- To protect buyers and sellers: reviewing problem reports, preventing fraud and enforcing our rules.
- To show sellers their own sales analytics.
- To improve BlackMarkit and tell you about important changes (like fee or policy updates).
Who we share it with
- Other users: your handle, shop name, photo, listings, posts and verified status are public. Your shipping address and name go only to the seller of an order you place.
- Service providers: Stripe (payments and payouts), Supabase (database, sign-in and photo storage), Railway (website hosting) and Google Fonts (the font the site uses). They process data only to provide their services.
- Legal: when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and BlackMarkit.
We don't sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies and storage
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember that you've seen the welcome screen, and your browser's storage to remember your bag. We don't use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is open. Order and payment records are kept as long as needed for taxes, accounting and disputes (typically up to 7 years). Messages and listings are deleted or anonymized after you close your account, except where we need them for an open dispute or legal reason.
Your choices and rights
- You can edit your profile in Settings and delete listings at any time.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account by contacting us. Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have additional rights; we honor them for all users.
Security
Access to data is protected by database security rules, and payment details are handled by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a sign-in email only you can access.
Children
BlackMarkit isn't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
